Howdy beer friends!
This past weekend we asked what local beers you’ve had that stood out and you all responded with so many great suggestions we decided to try as many as we could. Second beer on deck, a great one from Blackhorse Brewery.
Blackhorse Brewery holds a special place in this beer snobs heart as this is a great place for not only beer but food too. The Mrs and I take the kiddos here with some frequency. Not only do our kids dig the food but Blackhorse does a great job of working with the littlest one’s food allergies, which we appreciate. When Blackhorse Batch 160 was suggested as a local beer that stood out, a family dinner was in order.
Let’s get to the beer. This is a black IPA that pours dark brown with a great, full, tan head. On the nose I find a spicy, earthy hop aroma with a gentle malt sweetness which was a distinct chocolate character.
