This coming weekend (6,7 & 8 February) Darlington Rugby Club are hosting their 1st annual beer festival at Blackwell Meadows where 25 real ales and ciders from across the United Kingdom are on the go. On the Friday and Saturday evenings there will the added attraction of live music.
One special beer on offer at the festival is ‘Heading Home’ from Mithril Ales. The beer has been brewed especially to celebrate Darlington FC’s planned return to Darlington for next season. The beer can only be found at this beer festival.The CIC approached Pete Fenwick owner of local brewery Mithril Ales from Aldborough St. John and asked if he could produce a beer to support the Football Club’s ‘Heading Home’ campaign. The Rugby Club have also added their support by kindly offering to donate 20p to the Football Club for every pint of ‘Heading Home’ supped at the festival.
Pete Fenwick says that “Heading Home is a 4.2% golden beer with a massive citrus, floral & fruity hop flavour. This beer is refreshing & crisp from a combination of American & European hops.”
The beer festival is an ideal opportunity for Quakers fans to introduce their friends to our new surroundings and to support the move by having a pint or two of ‘Heading Home’
Admission to the beer festival is free and will be open each day from 2pm Friday, 12pm Saturday and Sunday until late.
