The Week Ahead in Beer: Sours and casks and more fun abound

Greetings, New Mexico craft beer lovers. Stoutmeister here with the reunified edition of The Week Ahead in Beer. This column covers all the breweries in Bernalillo and Sandoval counties, with Santa Fe’s four breweries and one newcomer down in Socorro also joining the party. We tried hard to keep the state edition going, but without participation from the breweries outside the I-25 corridor, it was futile.

There are quiet a few special tappings and events this week, with thankfully none of them happening on the same night. Tonight (Wednesday) is the Cuvee Rouge Release Party at all three Marble locations. The tapping of this special sour is at noon, but things really kick off at 5 p.m. at the downtown pub. The Cuvee Rouge will be paired with crispy duck egg rolls served by Street Food Institute. Meanwhile, this Thursday is the annual Defrost Fest at Blue Corn’s southside location in Santa Fe.
