Big Lick Brewing coming to downtown Roanoke!

Well, it won’t be long now, as I mentioned back in January there is a new brewery opening in Downtown Roanoke, VA this summer, it appears it’s going to be much smaller than the recent addition to Roanoke just a hop skip and jump away, Soaring Ridge Craft Brewers.

As Tiffany Holland reported in the Roanoke Times article from Sunday June 22nd, this 2 barrel nano-brewery will not be packaging bottles or cans for sale, opting for fresh beer for onsite consumption and purchase of growlers and kegs.

All this from a man who knows beer, it should turn out to be some great stuff…

Bryan Summerson, the former president of the Star City Brewers Guild, is in the process of renovating a Salem Avenue storefront where he will make his wares. The brewery, which will be called Big Lick Brewing Co., will be located on the first floor of the building at 135 Salem Ave. Apartments occupy the upper floors in what used to be a plant for Coca-Cola Co.
