Mountain Town brings standard, specialty offerings to Alma Brewing

ALMA — While expecting quality craft beers in small-town Central Michigan may seem like far-off dream, Alma Brewing Company is making that dream a reality.

In fact, it hasn’t taken long for the brewpub to gain notoriety since its opening July 16.

“Our goal here is to bring good hand crafted beer to the area,” said Allison Baur, general manager. “There just wasn’t much selection for good microbrews in the area before.”

Those brews are crafted under the expertise of brewmaster Kim Kowalski. Interestingly, Kowalski is also brewmaster at Mountain Town Brewing Company. This has given Alma Brewing Company the added recognition of offering craft beer to a new area as well as bringing in all those who are familiar with the selection found at Mountain Town Brewing Company.

While Alma Brewing offers the mainstays of Mountain Town Brewing Company, it also offers an impressive selection of specialty beers available only in house at Alma Brewing Company.
