The Heurich House Museum’s Castle Garden will turn into a spirited Biergarten for two days at the end of this month to host the museum’s 2017 Oktoberfest. The Oktoberfest Biergarten will run Saturday, September 30th and Sunday, October 1st from 12 noon through 8pm daily. “We thought transforming Christian Heurich’s Castle Garden into an Oktoberfest biergarten would be a fun way to honor his German heritage and deep commitment to both his home country and the brewing craft,” says Heurich House Museum Executive Director, Kim Bender. This year’s “pop-up bar” format differs from the museum’s past Oktoberfest events which have been ticketed festivals, but will continue to feature local craft beer offerings including Heurich’s Lager. Guests will sit at traditional Oktoberfest tables under decorated tents, drink half liters of a variety of German-style beers including a German festbier ordered from servers dressed in Oktoberfest-inspired attire, and feast on traditionally made soft pretzels … |
