The Week Ahead in Beer: A spooky but flavorful weekend is on deck

Greetings, New Mexico craft beer lovers. Stoutmeister here with The Week Ahead in Beer. This column covers all the breweries in Bernalillo and Sandoval counties, with Santa Fe’s seven breweries, one in Los Alamos, one in Moriarty, one in Red River, one in Silver City, and one in Truth or Consequences also joining the party.

Sure, Halloween is not until next Thursday, but plenty of breweries are channeling the spirit of the holiday with special events this weekend. Boxing Bear kicks it off with a pumpkin carving contest Thursday at 6 p.m., followed by Howl-Oween on Friday. This event runs all day, with food trucks and special vendors, plus the doggos from Watermelon Mountain Ranch will be on the patio from 3 to 6 ($1 from each beer sold during this time goes to them), and finally the Desert Darlings perform their Halloween Spectacular at 6 p.m.  Bow & Arrow has a case of Halloween Fever, and the only prescription is
