The news on Friday afternoon was expected, but still crushing for businesses across New Mexico. Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham announced new restrictions in the latest update to the public health order. Starting Monday and running through November 30, all non-essential businesses, including breweries, will go back to takeout only for beer and/or food. The governor wants all people to shelter in place, and for all non-essential businesses to reduce their workforce significantly. Citizens should only leave for food, medicine, and other health-related issues. “We are in a life-or-death situation and if we don’t act right now, we can’t preserve the lives, we can’t save the lives,” she said in an online broadcast.
