Kaktus scrambles to open Nob Hill taproom for New Year’s Eve

Kaktus’ rooftop patio has some of the best views in town.

The folks over at Kaktus Brewing might be nuts. Or, maybe they are just ambitious. But, probably nuts. They are currently in a mad rush to have their new Nob Hill taproom ready for a New Year’s Eve celebration. I stopped by Monday afternoon amid the chaos, and more than anything I came away impressed by owner Dana Koller’s dogged determination to pull it all off.

“I just hope people are patient with us,” Dana said. If it all comes together Thursday night like he plans, it should keep folks more than satisfied.

For those who missed our prior story on Kaktus’ taproom, it is located at 2929 Monte Vista in the space formerly occupied by Amore Pizza (which is now at the Green Jeans Farmery). For those who never visited Amore, it is located in the little shopping center just northeast of the intersection of Monte Vista and Girard.
