Greetings, New Mexico craft beer lovers. Stoutmeister here with The Week Ahead in Beer. This column covers all the breweries in Bernalillo and Sandoval counties, with Santa Fe’s eight breweries, one in Los Alamos, one in Moriarty, one in Red River, one in Silver City, and one in Truth or Consequences also joining the party. A few weeks ago when we talked with Boxing Bear head brewer/co-owner Justin Hamilton, he promised us that a number of new canned specialty beers were on the way. It’s not like we ever doubted him, but even we were surprised that Boxing Bear will be releasing two canned offerings this Saturday. Murkeles Hazy DIPA is back in cans for another run. New is Bear Mountain IPA, the latest in a series of classic West Coast-style IPAs that previously included Falcon Mountain IPA last weekend, and ChinHook Mountain IPA a few months ago.
