The Week Ahead in Beer: Getting charitable before the holidays

Greetings, New Mexico craft beer lovers. Stoutmeister here with The Week Ahead in Beer. This column covers all the breweries in Bernalillo and Sandoval counties, with Santa Fe’s six breweries, one in Los Alamos, and one in Moriarty also joining the party.

Hops for Hunger is new charitable effort rotating between different breweries throughout November and December. We missed the first edition at Red Door’s downtown taproom last week, but it’s back again this Friday at Steel Bender. The event is in support of Storehouse New Mexico, the largest food pantry in the state. Each participating brewery will be donating a portion (or all of) the sales of a specialty beer to the charity through December 9. In the case of Steel Bender, it will be the Plymouth Rock & Rye Saison.
