The Week Ahead in Beer: The first bounty of the foeder is ready at Bow & Arrow

Greetings, New Mexico craft beer lovers. Stoutmeister here with The Week Ahead in Beer. This column covers all the breweries in Bernalillo and Sandoval counties, with Santa Fe’s eight breweries, one in Los Alamos, one in Moriarty, one in Red River, one in Silver City, and one in Truth or Consequences also joining the party.

Back in July 2019, we stopped at Bow & Arrow to take a gander at their new foeder. In the before times when you could sit inside the brewery, you might have noticed the massive, wooden structure on the other side of the glass separating the brewery from the taproom. Well, after having been put to use, the first foeder beer is now ready for release this Saturday. Curio, a farmhouse ale made with regionally sourced hops and barley, will be released in 375ml bottles. It was fermented for 14 months in the foeder with a mix of wild and house yeast, including some yeast from a peach tree and a lavende
