The Week Ahead in Beer: The spirit of collaboration is alive and well

Greetings, New Mexico craft beer lovers. Stoutmeister here with The Week Ahead in Beer. This column covers all the breweries in Bernalillo and Sandoval counties, with Santa Fe’s eight breweries, one in Los Alamos, one in Moriarty, one in Red River, one in Silver City, and one in Truth or Consequences also joining the party.

We have always enjoyed the camaraderie and willingness of our breweries to work together in many ways over the years. The tastiest, of course, is when two or more get together and brew a collaboration beer. The pandemic put a halt to most collaborations, as every brewery was trying to avoid its bottom lines crashing through the floor and into the abyss. As case numbers continue to decline and things open up again, collaborations are beginning anew. One of the first (if not the first) of 2021 is this Friday’s release by Ex Novo and Gravity Bound.
