Putting it all on the line at Border Brewing

Borders are odd. Sometimes they are divisive. Other times they serve as connections. Often, it’s difficult to pin down just where they lie. Where’s the border between a beer drinker and a beer lover? A pale ale, extra pale ale, and India pale ale?

Eric Martens wants to blur the borders even more with his Border Brewing, set to open on Saturday, February 21 in the Crossroads Arts District starting at 11:00 am. The tiny tap room in front of an equally tiny three-barrel brewhouse sits across the street from Grinder’s on 18th, just west of Oak St. The walls are decorated with everything Kansas City and Crossroads. A tribute to the both the border town and border neighborhood.

Border Brewing will initially offer six regular beers, all approachable to beer drinkers and beer lovers alike. The truly gateway Blonde Ale is brewed with an German ale strain and flavored with lemon and orange peel. The Patio Ale is an extra pale ale somewhere between
