Jason Sitzman, Craig Reier & Tom Wilmoth from Zip Line Brewing Company The Zip Line Brewing Company from Lincoln, NE launched their beers into Brookings last Saturday at the Wooden Legs Brewing Company . I was fortunate to meet Jason Sitzman, Craig Reier and Tom Wilmoth and try several of their delicious beers at the release party. There was live music, good Zip Line beers and food for the many craft beer fans in attendance. I tried these beers and they were all good – American Tripel, Copper Alt, NZ IPA, Oatmeal Porter, cask Oatmeal Porter with Blueberry reduction & Black IPA. Please read on for my impressions. American Tripel – made with American hops (Mosaic & Amarillo) and Westmalle yeast. This was a tasty surprise! There were hints of peach and apricot on the nose. Craig says it is amazing with bleu cheese! Copper Alt – good crossover beer for craft beer newbies. Good with dry finish (not too sweet – IMHO). NZ IPA – All New Zealand hops in this one, but not Nelson Sauvin. Nice fru … |
