Greetings, New Mexico craft beer lovers. Stoutmeister here with The Week Ahead in Beer. This column covers all the breweries in Bernalillo and Sandoval counties, with Santa Fe’s four breweries and a pair of newcomers, one down in Socorro and the other in Los Alamos, also joining the party. Stoutmeister puts on his serious face to handle The Week Ahead in Beer. Wow, that sucked that the rain washed out Rail Runner’s beer-centric event last weekend. Speaking of rain, apparently there has not been much up in Washington state. So what? So this. Yup, the principal hops that make up our IPAs (and a lot of other beers not mentioned in the story) could be in short supply next year, leading to huge price hikes and other problems. In other words, hopheads, get ’em while you can. Thankfully, this Thursday is IPA Day, as in the national event that will take over bars and breweries across America.
