Greetings, New Mexico craft beer lovers. Stoutmeister here with The Week Ahead in Beer. This column covers all the breweries in Bernalillo and Sandoval counties, with Santa Fe’s four breweries and a pair of newcomers, one down in Socorro and the other in Los Alamos, also joining the party.

Many times we have led off this column with a look at a charity-related event at Tractor or Marble, two of our local champions of good causes. Other breweries often get in the act, too, and that is the case again this week. As soon as Full Nelson runs out, La Cumbre Brewing will tap their Ale 4 ALS beer, Grange’s Session IPA. Named for former UNM soccer player Pat Grange, $1 of every pint sold will go to ALS research in his name. Not to forget our four-legged friends who need our help, Distillery 365 is hosting Dogtoberfest on Saturday.
