The Week Ahead in Beer: May the luck of the Irish actually take effect this year

Greetings, New Mexico craft beer lovers. Stoutmeister here with The Week Ahead in Beer. This column covers all the breweries in Bernalillo and Sandoval counties, with Santa Fe’s eight breweries, one in Los Alamos, one in Moriarty, one in Red River, one in Silver City, and one in Truth or Consequences also joining the party.

In case everyone wearing green wasn’t enough of an indicator, today (Wednesday) is St. Patrick’s Day, and the breweries are participating in a low-key way. Ale Republic turned its Parasol Light Ale green for the day. Bombs Away tapped a fresh batch of The RED Ale. Boxing Bear put Red Knuckle Irish Red on nitro at all three locations. Canteen is serving up Reuben sandwiches and $5 stouts all day at both taprooms. Casa Vieja is open on a Wednesday, for a change, from 3 to 8 p.m., with live music from Dan O’Brien.
