August and the Dog Days of Fest Season

Summer is reaching its dog days, and thus, so it beer festival season. There is still a lot going on, even more than what is listed here. Check our Beer Calendar for all the events happening around Kansas City.

Now, let’s do a little run down on what still on tap between now and fall.

National IPA Day, Thursday, August 7

Well, that’s easy enough. I bet there’s a badge in it for you on Untappd, too. But if you’re really cool, you’ll head over to Bridger’s Bottle Shop in Westport for a firkin from Empyrean Brewing in Lincoln, Nebraska. They will be tapping their Watchman IPA infused with lychees and chai tea at 7:00. Yum!

Summer Beer Fest at 75th Street Brewing, Saturday, August 16

The city’s oldest brewpub is holding a Summer Beer Festival with nearly all the city breweries in attendance. It’s be held at the Alley, next to 75th Street Brewing in Waldo. Tickets are $30 for general admission and $4
