Crane-Sourced: Investing in Crane Brewing

If you’ve been to a local be festival in the last several years, no doubt you’ve seen the guys from Crane Brewing pouring some funky and sour experiments with flavors – and in colors – not found in most beer, commercial or otherwise.

Now, well into the build-out of their space in Raytown, Crane Brewing has hit a snag. Some unexpected costs have pushed their startup costs $40,000 above the budget they originally factored. And they are looking to you, the Kansas City brewing community, to help fill in that gap.

Crane has set up a page on CrowdBrewed, a crowd-funding site that focuses on brewery projects. As someone who personally was burned on a previous local brewery funded by the people, I cannot tell you to support them.

Here to convince you otherwise, is Chris Meyers, vice president of Crane Brewing. He was kind enough to answer some questions.
