Tonight’s featured beer is Crux Fermentation Project Doublecross Dark Belgian-Style Ale. I picked this bottle up at the brewery.

From the Crux Fermentation Project website: “A vibrant reddish-black hue, substantial body and pleasant headiness give this dark Belgian-style ale an alluring first impression. The intense flavors of dark candi sugar onspire to deceive with flavors that remind us of preserved fruits and holiday spicing, but the true agent is the Trappist yeast—and a suspicious drinkability.”

Appearance: Pours a dark reddish brown with a thin tan head and thin sheets of lacing.

Aroma: Caramel, toffee, vanilla, dark fruits, candi sugar and a light Belgian yeast scent.

Taste: Caramel malt, sweet dark fruits, toffee, candi sugar and a slight Belgian yeast flavor.

Overall: Crux Fermentation Project Doublecross Dark Belgian-Style Ale is slightly boozy, but balanced nicely. At 11% ABV
