When Woven in Time is released–the collaborative beer Allagash Brewing Co. and Sankofa Beer Co. brewed– it will be the first time a DC brewery has made beer at Maine’s largest brewery.
According to Allagash, the forthcoming beer, Woven in Time, is “an expressive and balanced dark ale brewed with millet and smoked maple syrup.” The beer was brewed for the Barrel & Flow Fest whose founder, Day Bracey, connected Sankofa and Allagash. Barrel and Flow is a festival intended to celebrate Black arts and artists, specifically with music and the visual and culinary arts, including beer. The Allagash/Sankofa collaboration will be poured at SouthSide Works in Pittsburgh, PA, from September 10 to 12, 2021 for what the festival organizers are hoping will be the best and most welcoming festival across the nation.
