Hello beer lovers and welcome to another edition of the NorCal Beer Blog’s brew review.
Tonight’s featured beer is Elevation Beer Company False Summit Quadrupel Ale Aged In Bourbon Barrels. I picked up this bottle while in Texas at Hall’s Wine & Spirits (here) which is a must visit bottle shop if you find yourself in or around Dallas.
From the Elevation Beer Company website: “Aromas of dark fruits, vanilla, and Bourbon seep off of False Summit from a milk chocolate head. The palate hits with notes of plums, dark cherries, bourbon, oak, and vanilla with a medium body to heavy body. False Summit is a beer to drink while mapping out your next adventure and should help motivate you to always keep moving to the top.”
Let’s get started!
Appearance: Pours a clear dark brown with ruby accents, a thin off-white head and leaves a thin film of lacing on the glass.
Aroma: Vanilla, oak, caramel, bourbon, toffee, dark fruits, candi sugar and a slight bit of chocolate.
