Gnarly Barley & Chafunkta Collaborating for Louisiana Craft Brewers Week

Zac Caramonta and Josh Erickson both are homebrewers turned craft brewery owners. The friends made their acquaintance in the Mystic Krewe of Brew homebrew club on the Northshore years ago. Today, they are pumping out their brews commercially as two of the 11 craft breweries in the state of Louisiana. Chafunkta Brewing Company sold their first pint of beer in April 2013, and Zac was at the release party to help Josh celebrate. And this past May, Gnarly Barley made their debut, with Josh right there cheering Zac on.

Of course it was inevitable that these friends would collaborate on a beer together. And with Louisiana Craft Brewers Week right around the corner, the timing was perfect. The beer style and name is to remain under wraps until closer to its unveiling. But I can tell you that a beer named after a Megadeth lyric has to be pretty badass. And I can assure you this should be a badass beer.
