Highland Warrior Series | Black Watch Double Chocolate Milk Stout

It’s no secret that we’re partial to stouts here at Knox Beer Snobs. Add in words like “double” and “chocolate,” you’ve got our attention. Back in July Highland Brewing Company debuted their Warrior Series and we were pretty impressed. The Warrior Series is meant to be a series that allows the talented brewing team at Highland to push the boundaries. The beer on deck today was the one that caught our attention first in July, so we’re thrilled to see it now.

This particular beer was the effort of bar tender J Unger who brewed it on Highland’s pilot system. As a self proclaimed chocoholic, this is the result. If you’re wondering where the name comes from, from the press release:  The name pays tribute to Scotland’s historic military regiment known as The Black Watch. With their dark tartan and mission to watch over Highlands, Highland salutes these warriors with a dark mahogany colored brew that pours silky smooth.
