Hello beer lovers and welcome to another edition of the NorCal Beer Blog’s brew review.
Tonight’s featured beer is Lagunitas Brewing Company Equinox – A Genuine Pale Oat Ale.
From the Lagunitas Brewing Company website: “A creamy, pale oat ale hopped up with a huge charge of Equinox and Simcoe hops for a piney, eucalyptus, cedar, sprucey, forest blast. First brewed in 1995… brewed today in a time of change.”
Let’s get started!
Appearance: Pours a clear copper color with a dense slightly off-white head and great lacing.
Aroma: Citrus, pine, tropical and floral hops, sweet malts, oats and a touch bready.
Taste: Citrus, pine, floral and some tropical hop flavors, oats, sweet pale malts, biscuits, honey with a bit of a spicy finish.
Overall: Smooth, silky and delicious, Lagunitas Brewing Company Equinox is impressive. This 8% ABV offering is crisp and highly drinkable. A great beer from one of my favorite breweries!
Cheers!
Mark Harvey
