Local Winners from GABF 2014

This past weekend in Denver, over 700 breweries dished out samples of their best beer to nearly 50,000 attendees, fellow brewers and judges who swarmed thru the aisles at the Great American Beer Festival (GABF). That last group, the judges, had some hardware to hand out.

When the winners were announced on Saturday morning, it became clear that Missouri and Kansas did well again this year. The two states brought home six medals.

Missouri and Kansas Medalists from the 2014 Great American Beer Festival

  • Boulevard Brewing’s summer seasonal, Zōn, won a bronze in Belgian-style wit.
  • Saison-Brett, from Boulevard’s Smokestack Series, took home a bronze in French– and Belgian-style saison.
  • Logboat Brewing in Columbia, MO (who we talked with right before they opened) won a silver for their Mamoot Mild in the English-style mild ale category. Not bad for their first year!
  • The Rye Pale Ale from the Civil Life Brewing Co. in St Louis scored a gold in the rye beer category.
  • Blind Tiger Brewery
