Well, here we go, Debate Night #3. A quiet Wednesday night at home spoiled by two people arguing on 10 different channels and the only cure is sweet sweet alcohol. Whether you are rooting for the orange-skinned megalomaniac or the robot in a pantsuit, there are only two things we can agree on – your candidate sucks and mine is a less sucky alternative. That, and putting beer in a bourbon barrel for a while makes it taste fantastic. Which brings me to Bourbon Barrel Quad (BBQ) from Boulevard Brewing Company, an aptly named beer for a bourbon barrel-aged quadruple ale, with a bit of cherry flavor added. For me, aging beer in a barrel is like adding bacon to a meal, it’s going to make it better. My introduction to barrel aging was several years back with one of the yearly fall editions of BBQ.
