Hello beer lovers and welcome to another edition of the NorCal Beer Blog’s brew review.
Tonight’s featured beer is Maui Brewing Company Lahaina Town Brown – American Brown Ale. I picked this up while on Maui, but have noticed that it can be purchased on the mainland now.
From the Maui Brewing Company website: “American Brown Ale. Malty, slightly sweet, with a toasted nutty character. A blend of munich, dark crystal, and chocolate malts result in a refreshing smooth and satisfying craft beer experience.”
Let’s get started!
Appearance: Pours dark brown with a fluffy tan head and soapy lacing.
Aroma: Roasted and chocolate malts, nutty and sweet smelling.
Taste: Roasted malts, chocolate, toasted nut, hints of caramel and coffee and a slight herbal hop bitterness in the finish.
Overall: Drinkable and delicious, Maui Brewing Company Lahaina Town Brown is enjoyable. This 5.1% offering is easy drinking on a warm day.
