Shipyard – Smashed Pumpkin: This was actually out last week but it got lost in last week’s clutter. Slightly boozy nose with allspice, nutmeg and a bit of cinnamon. The taste is big and malty up front with assertive pumpkin spices. Big hop bitterness comes next rounding out the back end. The finish has a bit of alcohol heat. It’s pretty good, There are better local options if you want a pumpkin beer though. 9.0% ABV @ Specialty Beer Bars and DABC
Avenues Proper – Little Sister Cerveza: A portion of this lager was brewed with specialty malted blue corn. Little Sister is described as having a golden color with pinkish/blue highlights. The flavor starts with light malt sweetness and a nutty corn chip flavor. The finish is hoppy and grassy with a bit of skunk for authenticity. 4.0% ABV @ Avenues Proper
