You don’t have to appreciate everything in your life, but please don’t abuse your New Beer Friday. Saltfire – Gin Barrel Aged IPA: Nice juniper aroma. Right off the bat, the barrel pops with more generous berry notes. Then the spruce part comes in, it is more subdued, but it swirls around the berries like a Christmas tornado. Tangerine peel and orange zest round out the end. This is the second gin barrel aged IPA to come from a local brewery (shades had the first). You wouldn’t think a gin barrel aged IPA would work very well, but the juniper aspect is perfect with the hops used. 8.0% – Available at SaltFire starting today. Uinta – “Get in Looser, We’re Going Hopping”: This Kolsch is hopped with the same blend that the recently released Pink Boots beer was made with. The hops dominate this beer.
