New Norfolk brewer uses Virginia ocean water in resurrected beer style
by Virginian-Pilot. Benchtop’s beer is a gose (pronounced GOE-zuh) that originates from the Middle Ages in the German town of Goslar on the Gose River. In 1900, some 80 brewhouses in Leipzig produced it, according to the Beer Judge Certification Program’s style guidelines. |
