#SAVOR Week 2014 Events: Smoke and Barrel

SAVOR returns to DC May 9-10. The week before this big event promises plenty of great events in the DC area. Although we have day-by-day line-ups posted, it may also be helpful for the #DCBrews community to check out what some players that are going above and beyond will be offering. Here are the events for Smoke and Barrel (2471 18th Street NW). For more of DCBeer’s #SAVOR Week coverage, click here.

Sunday, May 4 – 1pm
Whole Hog BBQ Beer Celebration at Smoke and Barrel

Beer Director Jace Gonnerman invites you to join Chef Logan McGear alongside BBQ-country natives, and smoked meat experts, Bob High of Natty Greene’s and Lead Brewer Jeremy Danner of Boulevard Brewing company, for an opening of SAVOR WEEK celebration.  Chef Logan and Bob, with local Boulevard rep “Heff” Matthew Heffernan, will be smoking a whole pig weighing 109 pounds! Smoking will start around 5 am, and the pig should be ready to serve by about 6 pm, but beers will be enjoyed all day.
