ASHEVILLE, NC – April 16, 2014 – “Trail Magic”. Unless you’ve hiked the Appalachian Trail, know someone who has, or have done some reading about the Trail, you may not know about this time-honored and deeply appreciated tradition. It’s what Appalachian Trail hikers call random acts of kindness – like giving away free food or beer – to those on the long trek from the Georgia to Maine. In the spirit of Spring and to show our support for the awesome feat of “thru-hiking” the Appalachian Trail, Hi-Wire Brewing, in collaboration with Appalachian Trail thru-hiker and author Zach Davis, is proud to be providing a bit of “magic” in the form of free beer to hikers along the trail near Asheville on Saturday, April 26th!
A bit about our partner: Zach Davis is the author of Appalachian Trials, the story of his own thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail accomplished without having any backpacking experience at all. His website AppalachianTrials.com provides resources on the Trail. The site, which currently reaches over 150,000 pageviews a month has more details on this and other “Trail Magic” efforts.
