Soon to Be Spanning Missouri – Rock Bridge Brewing

The name “Rock Bridge” can mean lots of things around Columbia, Missouri. It’s a high school. It’s a state park. And for the last two years, it’s a package brewery. Dave Brouder started Rock Bridge Brewing when his homebrewing hobby turned into an obsession. The other member of the Rock Bridge crew, Stu Burkemper, worked at the O’Fallon Brewery prior to joining Rock Bridge, and is a graduate of the renowned Siebel Institute in Chicago. Stu was kind enough to answer some questions about Rock Bridge Brewing as they expand from a two-barrel brewery to a new 30-barrel brewhouse and eye state-wide distribution.

  • Kansas City Beer Scouts: I first recall hearing about Rock Bridge when seeing a tap of your saison at Shakespeare’s Pizza last summer. How long has Rock Bridge been in operation?
