Southern Craft set to open in Baton Rouge this spring. 

Baton Rouge is finally getting their second craft brewery this spring with the opening of Southern Craft. Joseph Picou and Wes Hedges have been quietly working to build their brewery and have at last officially revealed the two beers they will launch with. 

  
Red Stick Rye was a 2nd place winner at the National Homebrew Competition in 2011, and was the inspiration for starting their brewery. 

This rye is based on our original recipe that won 2nd place in the 2011 National Homebrew Competition in San Diego. It is the brew that started it all for us. The featured ingredient is Carolina rye malt, which is produced using an heirloom variety called Wrens Abruzzi that has been grown in the South for over 200 years.
