The Week Ahead in Beer: A blast of winter cannot stop the hops

Greetings, New Mexico craft beer lovers. Stoutmeister here with The Week Ahead in Beer. This column covers all the breweries in Bernalillo and Sandoval counties, with Santa Fe’s eight breweries, one in Los Alamos, one in Moriarty, one in Red River, one in Silver City, and one in Truth or Consequences also joining the party.

If the theme of last week’s beer releases was big, barrel-aged stouts, then the theme this week is hop-forward brews defying the colder season. Of course, New Mexicans can never get enough hops, so we figure this will make some of you quite happy. Things kick off today (Wednesday) with the release of Cactus Flats Hazy IPA with Citra at Bow & Arrow, the second in their series of single-hop brews. This will be available in four-packs and on draft once the patio reopens Thursday. Just a few blocks to the east, Rio Bravo will be releasing cans of Dice Roll Hazy IPA, which won the take-home version o
