Greetings, New Mexico craft beer lovers. Stoutmeister here with the reunified edition of The Week Ahead in Beer. This column covers all the breweries in Bernalillo and Sandoval counties, with Santa Fe’s four breweries and one newcomer down in Socorro also joining the party. We tried hard to keep the state edition going, but without participation from the breweries outside the I-25 corridor, it was futile. Stoutmeister puts on his serious face to handle The Week Ahead in Beer. If it wasn’t obvious that this is dark beer season, this week alone should blast you into an obsidian happy place of epic proportions. First up, in a little bit of self-promotion, Obey the Darkside Stout is now on tap at Chama River. Brandon and I helped Zach and David brew this burly foreign export stout, which clocks in at 6-percent ABV and 65 IBUs. It’s big and roasty, yet smooth and even a little sweet.
