Greetings, New Mexico craft beer lovers. Stoutmeister here with the reunified edition of The Week Ahead in Beer. This column covers all the breweries in Bernalillo and Sandoval counties, with Santa Fe’s four breweries and one newcomer down in Socorro also joining the party. We tried hard to keep the state edition going, but without participation from the breweries outside the I-25 corridor, it was futile. Stoutmeister puts on his serious face to handle The Week Ahead in Beer. Our breweries have been quite friendly of late, and really all year, to various charities in New Mexico. Sometimes they brew a special beer and have a release party, other times they just invite everyone over with a portion of proceeds going to a designated charity. That will be the case again this Saturday when La Cumbre plays host to the Cerveza for a Cause! event from noon to 4 p.m. The Q Active 20-30 Club will receive $1 from every pint sold during this period to distribute to local children’s charities.
