Greetings, New Mexico craft beer lovers. Stoutmeister here with The Week Ahead in Beer. This column covers all the breweries in Bernalillo and Sandoval counties, with Santa Fe’s four breweries and a pair of newcomers, one down in Socorro and the other in Los Alamos, also joining the party. The good news is our breweries are getting in on the fun. Some of them are even starting early. First up, Nexus is having a beer release party for their aptly named Hoppy Hallowheat tonight (Wednesday). The beer is pretty much what you think, a hoppy wheat ale. If you are looking for something darker, trek over to Nob Hill Bar & Grill for the release of Russian Pirate, a Russian imperial stout from Odell that was aged in rum barrels.
