Greetings, New Mexico craft beer lovers. Stoutmeister here with The Week Ahead in Beer. This column covers all the breweries in Bernalillo and Sandoval counties, with Santa Fe’s four breweries and a pair of newcomers, one down in Socorro and the other in Los Alamos, also joining the party. Stoutmeister puts on his serious face to handle The Week Ahead in Beer. During the winter, seasonal beer releases tend to follow rapidly one after another. A few special ones are not just on tap, but in bombers. While we are all used to places like La Cumbre, Marble, and recently Bosque having those, now Boxing Bear is joining the party. First came their award-winning Chocolate Milk Stout, this week comes their hoptastic Sucker Punch Double IPA. The last time Justin Hamilton and his staff brewed up this monster, it checked in at 8.5-percent ABV and 125 IBU. They will have it on tap and for sale at the brewery from 5 to 9 p.m. this Thursday.
