The Week Ahead in Beer: La Cumbre gets its kicks by turning six

Greetings, New Mexico craft beer lovers. Stoutmeister here with The Week Ahead in Beer. This column covers all the breweries in Bernalillo and Sandoval counties, with Santa Fe’s six breweries, one in Socorro, one in Los Alamos, and one in Moriarty also joining the party.

Stoutmeister puts on his serious face to handle The Week Ahead in Beer.

One of our most awarded breweries, La Cumbre, is celebrating a sixth anniversary with an all-day celebration on Saturday. Wow, La Cumbre is six. Time sure flies, huh? Next thing you’re gonna tell me is the Brew Crew turns five in January … oh, wait, we do. Yowza. Anyway, before those shenanigans, you’re all invited to LC for the release of their special new beer, Albus Quercus, a saison aged in Chardonnay barrels. It will be on tap and for sale in bombers. There will also be a slew of additional beers coming out of the archives. A few are being tapped over the course of this week, including barrel-aged Malpais Stout on nitro today (Wednesday), 2014
