Whet Your Paddles at Logboat Brewing in Columbia

While we strolled thru the Missouri Beer Festival in Columbia last month, we were struck by the number of new breweries popping up. Kansas City has had five breweries open in the last several years. And now Columbia is having a surge of new package breweries. Rock Bridge Brewing opened just over two years ago. And now there are three more that will open this year. The first is Logboat Brewing, whose tasting room opens tomorrow. (They are planning a grand opening even for the end of May.)

I was able to ask Andrew Sharp, one of the founders of Logboat Brewing, several questions about their plans.

• Kansas City Beer Scouts: Who is Logboat Brewing?  What are your backgrounds?
  Andrew Sharp: There are three founders and countless friends and family that have inspired and encouraged us along the way. I graduated from Rockhurst [University] in KC, Judson Ball graduated from Columbia College, Tyson Hunt graduated from Mizzou.
