Saturday, March 10th was the Second Annual Day of Dorks at Wynkoop Brewing Co.. Over 30 breweries (including cideries and meaderies) were in attendance, pouring some of the best beers around. I’ve attended Day of Dorks for the last 2 years, and it’s always a fun time: great beer, nerdy spectacles, beaker tasting glasses, and people handing out Nerds, Smarties and Dum Dums. Wynkoop sure knows how to put on a beer fest, and they also know a lot about giving back to the community. For this sold out event, Wynkoop asked attendees to bring school supplies to benefit Roots Elementary, a new charter school in Denver. And in addition to all the supplies they collected, they’ve also spent the month of March raising money for Dora Moore School through Charity Tap. For the Charity Tap program, Wynkoop dedicates one tap to a local charity and donates $1 from every beer sold to the selected organization. The charity brews rotate monthly and are named for the … |
