Home Brew Competition
For the first time this year’s event included a Best In Show style competition for home brewers which was judged by the head brewers of Elk Creek, Gamble Mill & Otto’s. The organizers were very pleased with 50 beers being submitted as well as the overall quality of entries. Marks were given out of 75 with 1st place getting 62 points. Hopefully this competition will continue and grow for 2014. Beer Infinity submitted a Belgian Blonde and a Belgian Dubbel with the former getting 45 points but unfortunately the judging sheet for the Belgian Dubbel going missing 🙁
Bands
Three bands were featured at this year’s Brew Expo:
- Ted McCloskey & the HiFi’s – a popular local band from the State College area who can regularly be seen weekly at The Phyrst and Bar Bleu.
- Bronze Radio Return – they have played for President Obama and are originally from Hartford, Connecticut.
