Greetings, New Mexico craft beer lovers. Stoutmeister here with The Week Ahead in Beer. This column covers all the breweries in Bernalillo and Sandoval counties, with Santa Fe’s eight breweries, one in Los Alamos, one in Moriarty, one in Red River, one in Silver City, and one in Truth or Consequences also joining the party. There have been many years in the past where a New Mexico brewery wins a medal at the Great American Beer Festival, and people rush over only to find out that the beer is not available in draft or in cans or bottles. This year, however, all the medal winners are currently on draft at their respective breweries and offsite taprooms. Maximilian (gold) is on tap year-round at La Reforma. Brown Ale (gold) is currently available at all three Second Street taprooms.
