Greetings, New Mexico craft beer lovers. Stoutmeister here with The Week Ahead in Beer. This column covers all the breweries in Bernalillo and Sandoval counties, with Santa Fe’s eight breweries, one in Los Alamos, one in Moriarty, one in Red River, one in Silver City, and one in Truth or Consequences also joining the party. Today (Wednesday) is Veterans Day, which also means that it is the third anniversary week for Bombs Away Beer Company. This year, the brewery has acquired the special Veterans Blend from Yakima Chief Hops. Created by the military veterans working at YCH and veteran-owned breweries across the country, this special hop pellet is a literal blend of five different hops — Idaho 7, Sabro, Mosaic, HBC 630, HBC 692 — fused into a single package that was available for breweries and homebrewers as well (it has sold out, FYI).
