Crowds flock to Frankenmuth for World Expo of Beer

FRANKENMUTH — Another fantastic beer sampling event took place this past weekend in Frankenmuth. Over 60 breweries, cider makers, meaderies and beer distributors were represented at the 19th World Expo of Beer, offering more than 300 options, including most of our favorite Michigan beverages. From B. Nektar to Virtue Cider and Kuhnhenn Brewing to Brewery Vivant, the Mitten state’s best were in attendance.

As in years past, the World Expo of Beer was held on Friday evening and Saturday afternoon. Over those two days, thousands attended — this year’s was estimated to be more than 14,000 people. Attendees range from the knowledgeable craft beer aficionado to the ‘new to craft beer’ novice.

This event has enough variety for everyone. The $10 admission fee included a sampling 5-ounce plastic mug, which becomes a point of pride once multiple years are collected.
