Sioux Falls Craft Beer Expo Report

The Sioux Falls Craft Beer Expo was held this past weekend in Sioux Falls. With over 1600 attendees, it was the largest beer event this state has seen. Chop Liver, the event organizer, brought their signature beer expo that has had great success in the Twin Cities, Rochester and Mankato Minnesota. The entertainment included bagpipers, two live bands, hammerschlagen (if you don’t know what that is, look it up on Wikipedia) and even educational seminars. The event received bonus points for free cheese from Cheese World and hot dogs from Minnesota legend, Natedogs, hold the ketchup please.

With nearly 50 breweries and over 150 beers there was something for every palate. New breweries included Fargo Brewing Co. who enters the South Dakota market this week. I was able to try their fresh hop beer called Super Green. It was a nice surprise offering that wasn’t in the program.
