Sister Abby: An Unbiased Review

Yes, yes, I know I work for Double Shift so I could potentially come off a little biased, but come on people! Don’t you know me yet? I can 100% promise that this review will be unbiased, just like every single other review … except New Belgium, because I’m a hardcore #fangirl.

Now, let’s get back on the Abby train, shall we? Sister Abby is an American Dubbel. Why does Double Shift call it that? Excellent question, friend. According to our brewer, and I quote, “It’s a nod to Belgian brewing practices. True Belgian Abbey beers are very process-oriented and this beer is a very American Craft approach. It’s just me not taking credit for a style that, at its core, isn’t exact to style and giving credit where credit is due.”

Sister Abby is the perfect balance of malt and sweetness, with the slightest banana after-taste. I will say the sweetness hits you in the nose and the back of the mouth but then finishes so smoothly.
